  • Lockdown even rough on you dude.

  • "So what are these? Why are they so cheap? And where on Earth did they come from? AND WHO"S OUR SPONSOR?", that's perfect. Give Linus an Emmy for that intro! Really made me laugh outloud on that one, all alone....on this nice a** pc I was able to build because of Linus's videos XD!!

  • I just got taken by an eBay seller too. It must be the new way of doing business for them.

  • played CS with my friend and we lost cuz someone was AFK. oh wait! it was linus!

  • I never checked any sponsor Linus recommends, but I just love to see him saying all that

  • Bad batch .. through out production some chips can be damaged and stuff and they get pulled from direct sale .... and so the ones in a bad condition are sold or used differently and so these might be the ones that didn't make the cutt

  • yeah

  • I mean i got a 24" 165hz for £120 off ebay brand new lol

  • Meanwhile a week later: Some guy from hong kong: "Smuggler Arrested With CPUs Strapped To His Body" 🤣

  • Zoom

  • The stale dredger enzymatically sign because vinyl centrally scare pace a helpless dream. acceptable, dirty basketball

  • heys guys why not have a laser point on your screwdriver instead of lapping the screen or items? thanks guys, you all rock btw

  • Hey man, its me, another big pc youtuber! Could you maybe watch our videos? Thanks LTT inc.

  • Linus fell in scam of INTEL and promoting intel instead of AMD lol 🤣😂 NIce scam INTEL

  • I did too very very very complicated.

  • But its 70$ for a pillow

  • Bro your beard looks amazing

  • Times are getting tough for Intel. They're trying to scrape up as much cash as they can.

  • Buy a rlly old pc from apple then modify it Is this a good for vid

  • i am buying a rtx 3090 on 1 dollars YAY

  • @2:43 yaa sure... maybe for more content/money ?

  • You are better with Beard!

  • Just bought an i9-10980XE for £700. Getting my Rampage VI Extreme out of its box again.

  • please do a review on the glorius model o wireless PLSSS

  • I can only think they must be QC rejects maybe given the scratches

  • Ended up buying one of these things for shits. Ordered the 14C/28T, received a 7960X 16C/32T instead due to availability! It's perfect, works like a dream, and have had no problems with it at all. Paired it with an evga x299 micro and now it's in my Plex server. Damn good video haha

  • I miss my old computer

  • Can you build me a gaming pc🙂

    • @Deon Joy I will build you a pc if you pay me for the parts

    • @Xeravoid i need help

    • @Deon Joy because you can build one yourself

    • @Xeravoid why

    • No

  • In my county the i9 extreme was 3k dollars and now it's less than 1500

  • Kotaku - Activision BLIZZARD Sued By California Over Widespread Harassment Of Women* *"In a particularly tragic example, a female employee committed suicide during a business trip with a male supervisor who had brought butt plugs and lubricant with him on the trip, before her death, male co-workers were alleged to be passing around a picture of the deceased's vagina."*

  • I was excited for a moment because my idiot brother fell for Best Buy upselling and bought a monitor that does G-Sync instead of AMD FreeSync (he’s got a Ryzen, and G-Sync does not work with AMD) but of course, all sold out.

  • How r u bro 🤜 I done

  • Buying 2017 CPUs in 2021 is just dumb, no need to bother with any of this. Next time save cash, put up a video about something interesting and do a segment saying those chips are not worth it. This is a bit ridiculous.

    • @mike soro I ditched PCs 7 years ago, M1 all the way for me.

    • Someone’s mad they bought ryzen lmao

  • wish he bought the amd one to test that aswell

  • I managed to snag an "old" Dell Precision 5820 with an X299 board, 32GB RAM and an i9 7900X for 400€. I could easily upgrade (at very low cost) to an i9 7980XE (by reselling the old one) and upgrade to an i9 10980XE down the line. Turned that PC into a Hackintosh for work and these chips are the shit. For what I need, they're perfect. No need for PCIE 4.0, but instead high core count and native support for MacOS - no Ryzen hacks required and Docker fully working.

  • This may be a random question but what are the blue things Linus is using to old the CPU's I have been working on a lot of my friends old PCs. Since they do not want them anymore I would rather hold onto the old CPU's and build someone a computer out of the spare parts rather then just toss them (by toss them I mean e-waste).

  • Can i work for you?

  • Ya'll should make a AMD CPU pillow with little "pins" dangling off of it.

  • Would you send me one ? x)

  • I think all these CPUs are just ones that Linus has dropped over the years that still work

  • AMD any day

  • That CPU pillow costs as much as my actual CPU did

    • Your CPU isn’t made from alpaca wool

  • Hi

  • 10:30 TO 10:40 What a damn good rhyme! Loved it.

  • Will it work with Windows 11??? That would be my guess as to why they are discounted!

  • I mostly game. I do try other stuff like creating avatars but I am a noob to that type of stuff. Gaming is life for me just need to find the right game.

  • I just deal with i5 10th gen lol

  • Why almost everyone is surprised. Its what these cpus actually worth. Intel and AMD can only charge these prices because simply they can.

  • 8:06 had to whipe my screen off

  • I think they are simply damaged products, no one is interested in a damaged new chip of 1000 dollar

  • I hate how I looked... But none of these CPU's were "cheap". Wish he would have just shut his mouth because he has now shot the price up...

  • Seriously, sellers HK don't want the Commies getting them.

  • HK chips sounds like businesses in HK getting rid of stock that would normally take a while to sell. Well probably see a lot of this now...

  • do any of these have built-in graphics? I don't want to save on CPU and then blow it all on scalper GPU

  • $2000 yes, in 2017 👏

  • 428 bucks so cheap looks at my 125 dollar 3600 hundred and laughs hystertically

  • I read an article not just a few days ago, where it said they found people trying to smuggle CPU's into a certain city in china, but the customs authority thought that those people were acting and moving quite odd. And the longer the investigation took place, the more CPU's they found bubble wrapped and glued onto their limbs xD it was said that each person had atleast around 30-50 high end CPU's on them haha

  • Hey Linus, when it comes out (or if you want to do a review on it with your opinions) could you go over the Steam Deck? Practically marketed as a handheld pc and would love to hear your thoughts about it!

  • Heard that once- the fact is most cpus pass tests before being released those that dont pass all the test get sold at discounted price or have a core or two locked by default !

  • I'm getting anxiety seeing him flail that thing around like that

  • I think you may have found a bitcoin mining outfit upgrading.

  • I dont know..... Scammers and scalpers will pick these up really quick. I might just go with a computer from 2018 instead of a 2021. All I need is to run Linux and the only two games will be Minecraft and Frozen Bubbles.

  • Where do you buy cheap computer part's

  • Could you pls make a vid about choosing components pls #1

  • Nobody here thinks that these good be parts from stolen pc's? Or just stolen parts in general?

  • Linus ad on a linus video?

  • fuxing sellout.. you downed origin and they BOUGHT YOU!!!

  • Remove 8$ and I’ll buy it

  • The problem is they're Gen 7. They're probably really great for a Linux server though.

  • Does Intel asks the manufacturer to intentionally scratches the CPU heatspreader so they can pass as a used product?

  • I'm big fan you and so many things by videos

  • I'm big you and learn so many things from

  • i need a good cpu as im billding a new gaming pc but the thing is i dont have that moch mony so ill bay the intel i9 7980xe off you for £200 as it is used

  • Havent seen you spit like this before Linus xD

  • i'm focusing on the "small scratches and dents" part of this whole thing for this theory: Back when i was working building washing machines and fridges, if one of these had one of these imperfections on the visual part of it, it would cost more to disassemble it and change the part than selling it around half price (being not listed, of course). I don't know how can this apply to the processor, how hard it is to replace the lid, or how much time and effort it would take, but this is the first thing that came into my mind. The chips are still being made, and some here and there will come non-perfect for retail selling.

    • But they are discontinued

  • The title is a clickbait in perfection! You should change it to: "This MUST Be Fake - but it´s NOT!"

  • Hey, I own that shirt.

  • This is probably a collection of swapped out chips by someone in intel accumulated over the years. would explain the scratches for quick handling and throwing it all in a bag or something @linustechtips

  • Still would prefer Xeons for the ECC memory.

  • Oi

  • Linus: “There are a ton of them“ Ebay: Nope, you won’t get me

  • I wish i could blow a 1000 dollars

  • If the ebay listing says "these is not fake," then technically they are not allowed to sell a fake. So it is real.

  • Can confirm, they are available also in UK

  • It's so sad seeing the white gpu (rog strix rtx3080 white edition) that I've been trying to get for the past year or so. Ohh well hopefully soon 🤞

  • You just made these people rich

  • Most important question doesnt get answered: DO THEY SUPPORT ECC MEMORY???

  • yeah but pci-e 4.0 carries twice the bandwidth of pcie 3.0!.

  • actually these cpu seem pretty rocking, but when you look at the benchmarks you can just buy a "normal" on which will be cheaper and better in the end

  • Nice poem 1:35

  • I'm sorry but 428 dollars is still damn expensive for a cpu unless you got real deep pockets!.

  • another possibility they could be rip off from crypto mining pcs and laptops which is obsolete and dispose of maybe? Legit and workable conditions.
