Foldable devices are here, or more specifically, foldable displays. Laptops and notebooks fold to make things more portable, but what if we folded the display itself?

  • Hahaha linus apprentice

  • I really don't care about bezels.. especially if you don't put a case on your phone and you accidentally touch the screen on the side you hold it over and over....

  • I'm tired of not having headphone jacks.....SAMSUNG....IM TALKING TO YOU....

  • Introducing TopTop

  • Are the bad internals designed to kill the form factor? I'd would have liked to a third reviewer who can use a pen properly.

  • I could not sit this on my lap in any of the various shapes it takes. This is not a LAPtop

  • I can imagine having to unfold my phone 3 times before being able to answer the call in the future.

  • yo, why does alex always stare at the camera when talking....

  • Does everything, but is good at nothing

  • never seen anyone more obviously gay than riley

  • Isn't it just a glorified tablet?

  • folding screens are the new 3d tv

  • Waiting for this tech to improve. The form factor is perfect for digital nomads

  • 5:00 rookie mistake, putting TNT directly into your cpu

  • Sir please make video on how make raid 6 nvme sdd nas

  • Does the side of the screen underneath the keyboard remains lit when open?

  • It has potential.

  • I could definitely see myself getting this as a kind of second laptop for travel and notetaking, but im definitely gonna wait for the next generation at least

  • Great to see Alex. Please move his teleprompter. It's really wired when he is looking off center.

  • I got an Asus Vivobook Flip 14 few days ago, this one spec'd with 2 core celeron, wifi AC, touch and MPP pen support, emmc memory, and empty NVMe slot for upgrade,. 399 CDN at Staples. pen extra... I bought it for my truck. Computer #4.... very happy with cost/value ratio. like VERY happy. just for web/youtube/musc/ODB vehicle programming. 2 cores, windows 10, nvme upgrade, working AMAZING

  • I need more of this format, one giving pros one giving cons. True review.

  • Isnt it then just a fodable tabled

  • So it’s a folding tablet with windows

  • Riley is just too funny.

  • what if ... LTT sold ... LTT PCS....

  • This device is for C suite and directors that want an iPad, but need to do actual enterprise work. On a dock most of the time with 2 external monitors keyboard and mouse at the desk, but can fit in a purse, or in a blazer pocket to be taken and used anywhere. Its for educational institutions that want to cut down on rotation costs of giving each instructor a desktop, laptop, and or tablet, as well as the ease of having the same device serve as your desktop, instructor console computer, and work from home device ( as well as reduced cost of instructor consoles for institutions that dont dedicate an instructor to each classroom) Am i one of the people this is made for? No, well sort of but i'm a power user Do i want one? Yes, but not in the way Lenovo envisions Instead i'll grab one off of ebay or a local institution when i can get them for $300 after the rotation cycle is up in 4-7 years. Lenovo's hold their value about as well as Apple, the innovative products tend to hold as well or better than Apple

  • I'd like to see the SteamDeck processor in this

  • If placing the keyboard on the laptop, covering half the screen, doesn't turn off that half of the screen, then you're wasting battery life on screen you can't see. That basically means there's almost no use case for that form factor. Additionally, those port locations are really unfortunate.

  • The first word that comes to mind looking at this thing is "SMALL"... I'd only want a folding "tablet" if it was gigantic and works as either a large ecanvas or a regular laptop with a touch keyboard and front+rear camera. Also wtf is wrong with that front camera's contrast lol

  • I cannot express how much I loved this format of the video where one guy explains all the good stuff and another guy points out all the drawbacks. It's the kind of dialog we all have about the devices we love or hate. continue doing your best guys.

  • 2:48 - I remember when everone complained about stuff not being USB C, and now we're on the track to complain about something not being charged inductively... oh boy...

  • If that thing was £500 I'd buy it in a heartbeat. At £2000, absolutely no chance. (I know that $2000 is not £2000 but trust me, that's what it will cost here, the UK doesn't price convert, it just replaces the $ with a £).

  • I guess I'll look at the 17" version when the 5th gen. comes around! ^^.

  • Think about when gaming laptops adopt folding screen tech... could fit a whole all-in-one PC that is powerful enough for some super gaming into something that is the size of a tablet, and probably as thick as an average book.

  • Can you use it like a book, a comic book, with two pages up?

  • No thank you !

  • "Ahuahuahuahua"

  • Why not iPad lol

  • sell me this thing for 400$-500$ and ill quickly replace my school chunky boi laptop. but..uh..2k$? yeah. my chunk boi laptop from 6 years ago is still more powerful, has longer battery life, and vastly cheaper.

  • linus looking a bit diffrent

  • What's the life expectancy.

  • im pretty sure a nice argument or discussion rather between the two of these is what inspired this video lol

  • I'm somewhat sad because I really can't see ultra thin devices like these one work "good" with x86 for the foreseeable future. Which most likely means they will be android or mac devices and I would really hate either.

    • @Kai Wizardly Sure but it would most likely be hacky to run another OS in these sort of devices. I just don't see MS doing a device like this. Linux I guess will depend on how permissive the hardware manufacturer is. Plus, as much as I hate to admit it, an apple device with its new ARM processors is probably the only thing at the moment that would work great for these sort of devices.

    • Windows does run on ARM, or you can switch to Linux.

  • What would be awesome is a 13" size when folded. This way it would have the size of a normal ultrabook while having a massive screen of 20" (or so)

  • Alex did not even blink in this video It terrifies me ..

  • Folding smart Phone folding all screen Loptop.. are we getting a Folding T.V next?

  • Now it's just top

  • Ok it's cool but if the cpu is discontinued it means it won't run windows 11 😂😂

  • Nintendo DS? lol

  • wait, arent folding screens super easy to break/scratch? i really feel that thing cant handle an artist that just ctrl+z the same line for the 20th time.

    • Plastic screen protectors work fine and you need several. This...gah, $2500 for an input device, really, tho bluetooth 'phones make sense

  • Too expensive, but it could be great for traveling lite (bikepacking or etc.) and you prefer a desktop environment over tablet

  • This device as a ton of potential. I can’t wait to see the second and third generation of this device.

  • cool factor doesn't get work done. And you advertising it for its "cool factor" is plain idiotic.

  • LRG Oddware material in ten years time. Cool gimmick but one that's not worth the steep price tbh.

  • We need more folding-puns please

  • MrMobile covered this a while back and from what was gathered there the demographic was for business users in anticpation for the now abandoned WIndows10X. Because of it lenovo had to hastly ship this with windows 10 which in his review would crash and freeze because of infighting between the OS and software and would also not understand what orientation it should be in because windows 10 wasn't designed for foldables in mind.

  • Why would you not want this? 1) Price 2) You can lose the keyboard for it

  • Umm the iPad Pro can definitely fold

  • He is trying acting like linus, but he is terrible at it

  • this will fit in my pocket awesome i have huge pockets

  • this thing reeks of that "first gen" clank

  • "theres a lot to unfold there" *phils laugh in background*

  • How dare you interrupt my other linus tech tips video

  • Bad laptop, slow, not great, no IO, hardly any options, but it's the screen size of an iPad and it folds - oh, it's also $3000+. I'll pass

  • 16:10 bezeless screen like Dell XPS

  • It would be cool if we have folding monitor that can fit in back pack

  • Riley Riley Riley !!!!!!

  • He talks the same like linus

  • Tbh. This is nothing but a novelty item with no actual use in terms of productivity given how powerless the specs are. I know it's innovation and shit, but one has to wonder how many gen 1 devices in their categories end up in a dumpster. E waste is a big hassle given how every single tech company seems to be trying their damn best to generate more. Constant updates render older gen devices slow and useless. Forcing customers to upgrade to better hardware... I mean it textbook marketing and production management, but still, things should change soon.

  • Why won't they let me buy a laptop with 2 touch screen of 14 inch like the Asus Precog or the Dell Duet.

  • Love the transitions between Riley and Alex. Clever and humorous!

  • 2:25 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity is more than enough, even for drawing

  • That's not a laptop, thats a big Boi zfold

  • The before times lol

  • Refreshing to see an honest review with some downsides in it, instead of EVERY review from LTT being "the best thing ever".

  • Alex : " sucks." Alex : Hey this guy is my namesake. I like this guy lol

  • More Riley Alex content

  • “C-suite hipsters” … cute. Nice oxymoron. If c-suite people are anything, they are most definitely NOT hipsters. In fact, pretty much the exact opposite. Unless you’re talking about c-suite for tech companies. At that point, it can be argued that every employee of a tech company is a hipster to some degree, when it comes to tech. For non-tech companies? Total oxymoron.

  • Still 1st gen..

  • Nintendo 3ds large

  • 1:10 😂😂

  • "Cool factor" ain't worth $2,000.

  • The display stripe on the left an right side on the bottom looks not so good 😮 😲

  • Riley and Alex in one video? Pop in Anthony and this is video is going places!

  • This looks truly awful in every way.

  • Big.little is terrible for cisc, I don't know why intel thought otherwise, even a pleb like me knows that.

  • He's like linus 2.0, the guy with glasses

  • I don't know man seems like a big Galaxy fold

  • It is a good idea, but needs some work

  • 3:49 “Is it ACTUALLY good as a laptop, though?” That’s a funny way to say “Alex f***ing SLAMS the X1 Fold!”

  • Lot's of time devoted to to just saying "no" to this device.

  • I thought Lenovo was dead. I guess this is their attempt to stay alive

  • well I was hot for it for a second... but with the it being as slow as it is.. it would not meet any of my performance requirements... looking forward to version 2.0

  • really like the 2 person style

  • Good video

  • For a first gen product the roast was totally uncalled for. Sure the price is too high but it's the cost you pay for innovation (R&D) coz let's be honest even Lenovo knows it just won't sell like hotcakes at $2000 (and higher) and it'll only attract enthusiasts. So tone it down just a little bit if you can!

  • So much beefcake in this episode, I don’t know what to do with myself

  • It’s a ds

  • I am curious ...Can u play games without keyboard 🤣
